LOVIN' LEEDS

Fun Shop Workshop

John came into college to get us to part take in a fun shop called 'lovin' leeds'. We were told to create an event in relation to woodstock, with no limitations. So scale wasn't a matter. It would be based in leeds and would get Leeds together in an almost community like sense; similar to woodstock. After being told to make a big idea, bigger yet we were put into groups.

Our group consisted of:
  • Baljeet
  • Charlotte
  • Liv
  • Niall
  • Liam
  • Mitch
  • Marty
  • Flanagan
  • Mooney
  • Oli
  • Will

We got together, drawing up idea's...

Writing up idea's for our event name.

A mind map of endless possibilities.

We decided to get into pairs and focus on one of these event idea's and gather a ton of research and further development to bring back to the table at a further stage. Me and charlotte went away with 'A huge pass the parcel', with this we set about developing our earlier ideas. We thought of scale, feeling it would be a great idea to create it as big as a road so it could be easily rolled along, John then came up to us and asked us 'why not bigger.' We thought it would be an issue to move if any larger, John simply came back with the idea of huge lorries and helicopters transporting it from place to place; make a big idea, bigger.

So our end result was a huge stadium sized pass the parcel which would be transported from location to location by a helicopter.

Other peers ideas consisted of:
A stadium turned into a beach
Covering a street in canvas so people can get creative
Epic where's Wally
Bike race

It was a very informal approach to a brief, It was much more 'chilled' and I did feel creativeness was full on due to the limitless options, we certainly became more adventurous after that session with John!

An idea for creating a huge scale big race around the ring road in leeds. Also plotting other events which can be found along the way.

Showing iconic and large areas in Leeds in which the events could be placed.
