OUGD202 - Adobe after effects workshop

Opposed to staring a new project, you can start a new composition


You can have more than one composition within one document

Window can always be pulled back to adapt and change settings.




Choose above option 'PAL D1/DV Widescreen square pixel'. We work at frame rates of 25

Option to change background colour
There are 256 increments of RGB


To return to composition settings, click composition then composition settings

The creation of a layer, to create a square. Colour can be chosen.



Changing time for frame

Space bar = play
Another way to preview

Once it becomes to full to play, you can change it to preview clearer

Button ' ` ' Shows composition window enlarged


Transformation options
Hover mouse over numerical values, can be pulled to extend, descend 

Click position
Press clock watch - this will create a key frame
Move time line
Move shape / image to a new location (creates a new key frame)
Key frames can be moved closer together to make faster




















Changing the size of the grey bar means the loop is shorted and fits your work

Keyboard shortcuts


While holding artwork (box, object)
p = Position
a = Anchor point 
r = Rotate
s = Size
t = Transparency

PARST

O = Out  
i = In
Layer selected
The in point (beginning) to the out point (end)

N = adapts grey bar to end where your layers end

U = All animated properties of all layers used
B = Adapts start point to where timeline is placed

Convert anchor point pool > found under pen tool, coverts a straight line into a curve


To export
Adapt length - end and start points
Composition > Add to render que
> Lossless > Format options > Video codec > H.264 > Ok > Ok
Instead of 'lossless' you should have 'Custom quicktime'
Output too > Name appropriately > To user work > Quicktime file format
