General food packaging design - focusing on the allergy advice
I found that most food products advertise the allergy advice very well, but others were so subtle, to the extent it could be seen as dangerous; it was either so small, or very un- descriptive that it could go unseen by those with an allergy.
'Utterly Butterly' offered no 'allergy advice' section, just simply listed the ingredients.
Sainsbury's cookies. A well shown allergy advice logo, and advice on who to speak to and where to find them.
Warburtons bread packaging. Small allergy advice at bottom. Could go unseen
Pattacks korma can. A lot of information on allergy advice. Well shown.
Due to personal experience with food allergies, I know there is specialised aisles in big food chains, and independent shops offering food products for those with allergies to particular ingredients.
Tesco's store 'Free from' range
A very nice and wide variety of food available. consistent packaging and logo. Prices of some products were quite expensive.
Asda's 'free from' range. Consistent logo but not packaging. Wide variety. Good prices.
General allergy foods
Costly effective.
Found in an organic store. Quite expensive. Obvious what it is though, and what its an alternative to.
Not obvious that it is in fact soya butter, blends in with dairy products.
