Top ten things - Ident 4 design

I decided on a beach bar setting, due to the connotations it has, they are renowned for selling cocktails and mocktails alike, So found it a perfect scene to draw and render up. I tried to choose an appropriate audio for the 'holiday theme' which is also connotated by a beach bar.

This ident design is going to be used for the title sequence; I haven't added the title, date, time or channel.

The finished piece. I'm very happy with the ident, i've managed to follow my storyboard precisely. I had a few timing issues and possibly have a few alterations to still make. I'm happy with the colour palette, I have tried to make colours as realistic to the objects and scenery used as possible, to make it believable and understandable to a user.

I've added audio here, choosing a karaoke version of 'la bamba' feeling it fits the 'holiday theme' I've gone for. I chose to work with the karaoke version, as told to us previously, singing within audio is hard to work with and edit. Its a typical holiday song you hear, and is popular and known to my directed target audience.

Top ten things - The direction I'm going to take

After having a mental breakdown at the lack of skills I seem to have on after effects, I spoke to Lorraine. Finding that my skills lie within illustrating and hand rendered pieces, she suggested I followed the path of some student in previous years; to concentrate the bulk of your time on creating stunning visual illustrative material, and use AE to simply move these pieces around the screen, as the images would speak for themselves. 

I was much happier after realising I could do this, so decided to get cracking on creating some intricate, colourful illustrative material. I also realised, when coming to create the packaging, I would have art work readily prepared, so in a sense, it was a time saver on that part!

I illustrated everything I could think I would need within my idents and title sequence.

Heres an initial animation. Using the images above I have created a first moving piece. I was unsure of the tone I wanted to create. It has humorous elements (the cow kicking the juice and glass) alongside serious elements (the statistics about drinkers). Its basically a collation of a series of approaches I could take.

I decided I wanted to experiment with Kinetic Type, not very well I must admit, but its a start!

Top ten things - Animation images - To do

I want to start designing for my animation just to get me started, I think wriitng a list of items to design will get me thinking about the story boards, which gets me thinking visually about the animation. 

Each of the ingreident found in my top ten mocktails:

1. Fire in the sky - 

1 shot Orange

1 shot Cherry

1 shot Coca Cola

Mix Orange Juice and Cola then add grenadine to flavor. Three parts Cola, one part Orange Juice. Garnish with Orange and Cherry.

2. Virgin Martini

1 Olive

Place olive in martini glass. Enjoy

3. Bloody Driver -

20 cl. Tomato Juice

2 cl. Orange Juice

4 Juice of Lime Juice

4 cl. Carbonated Water

It's really important that the tomato juice is natural both in taste andtemperature and thick and that the mineral water comes in last. With only half of the glass with tomato juice, squeeze

4. Morning Star - 

10 Pineapple Juice

1 tsp. Suga

r1 tsp. Honey

3 Pineapple Chunks

Blend in an electric blender. Pour into a medium glass and add a small piece of vanilla stick.

1 fill Mineral Water

5. Jungle Juice - 

2 Orange Juice

1 Bananadash ginger

Place all ingredients in the blender jar - cover and whiz on medium speed until well blended. Pour in one tall, 2 medium or 3 small glasses and drink up.

6. Crazy Cow - 

1 Apple Juice

1 Milk

Place all ingredients in the blender jar - cover and whiz on medium speed until well blended. Pour in one tall, 2 medium or 3 small glasses and drink up.

7. Pineapple Spin - 

4 oz. Pineapple Juice

1 oz. Coconut Cream

0.5 cup Crushed Ice

Pour all ingredients into a Blender. Blend well at High speed. Pour drink into a Collins glass and garnish with a Pineapple Slice.

8. Coke and Drops - 

7 drops Lemon Juice

1 dl. Coca Cola

Take a glass, pour the Coke in the glass, then you take 7 drops of lemon juice. Granish with a lemon slice on the rim of the glass.

9. Liver Recovery - 

6 strawberries

2 Green apples, cored, peeled, chopped

1 Banana

Ice

Juice all fruits in a juicer.

Add to blender with one scoop of ice.

Blend and pour into small highball glass

10. Safe sex on the beach - 

3 oz. Orange Juice

3 oz. Pineapple Juice

0.25 oz. Grenadine

1 oz. Peach Nectar

Fill highball with ice. Add ingredients with some ice in mixer, shake. Strain over ice

A simple design for digital, example of what can be achieved. Although using a combination of programs, one of which being after effects. Something similar could be created as a ident.
