In preparation for the new brief, we were given a 2 hour brief to complete: To produce a poster which communicated the skills we, as a Graphic Designer had, and the skills we looked for in a visual partner. The poster had to be visually engaging to put across our apparent 'skills'.
The designs were then spread across the wall divided into DP1 and DP2. We were then asked to put beside the posters, comments, one regarding why we liked the content, another as to why we liked the design, putting our names on the back of the sheet; an almost feedback driven workshop.
By doing this, we we able to anonymously pinpoint people we would suit to work best with, in regard to skills they had, and skills they wanted in a collaborative partner. I gained three sets of feedback for my poster. The end result of the workshop was to leave having chosen a collaborative partner; I chose Marty from the three possible. Regarding how opposite our skills were in where they lay, I felt as a collaborative we would have a bigger sum of skills; I didn't feel there was a point in getting a partner which has similar skills to my own.
