VISUAL LANGUAGE - BOOK WORKS - STOCK

Looking at a range of stock, trying to test out which was best to print onto, fold, cut etc. I found the easiest to work with was very thin, brown parcel paper, but when attempting to cut out the windows, it made it too delicate, and needed to have something backed behind it. The grey seemed to dull and washed out, and was too dark to be able to see the intricate designs. I also realised after printing, that I had made an error with the front page, I'd enlarged the image, not realising it had gone onto both front and back page.

I decided to print the birds onto tracing paper, as when the window frame opened, it was clear enough to resemble being outside, but opaque enough that other designs in other pages, when layered behind, weren't too visible.

Experimenting whether to cut out the windows, or to leave them be...

Window panes not too aesthetically pretty, needs some work done
