I wanted to have a look at the way cosmetics can be advertised, what context they are put in, how they are communicated and what packaging designs existed. I took a trip into Boots and took some sneaky photographs of makeup, False eye lashes and other aisles.
There was a range of ways products were sold, the advertisement of promises on a bottle, 'legs to go', or 'Hello Flawless', others are packaged very simply, with very little text, simply outlining what the product is, letting the product and packaging speak for itself. There was very few of these out there, the most promoting promises of the packaging, some aren't very clear as to the piece they are selling.
I want to do the polar opposite, tell a customer exactly what is being packaged, and what it does, it the boldest striking words.
