'How to...' - Our initial Designs!

Initial Designs - Sophie s-wilson1013.blogspot.com

A hand produced slogan on a scroll, relating to her theme of home baking. We as a team believed that we should all create hand drawn pieces to give a personal touch, yet relating back the solution of reliefing home sickness.
An outline drawing of a final design idea, using an illustration to link back to the text.
Initially our team decided to keep continuity running throughout our designs, we should use a monochrome colour palette. But as member began experimenting with colours, we agreed that some suited the use of colour better than others. Sophie's was just one.
Again experimenting with colouur palette.
Initial ideas, illustrations drawn in relation to 'home baking' and notes made. An experimentation with type in differents types, and a range of different cakes.

Work produced by myself - the theme of learning to keep the habit of cleaning up after yourself.
Here i designed a few borders in which my overall designs would be presented in. Drawn by hand, gave a personal quality, and the idea of a, made to look, stitched outline keeping in theme with the tote bag.
Idea's for border to outline tote bag designs.

Yafat's final design, mocked up on photoshop.

A finalised tote bag design by team member. In relation to 'missing home', we are proposing students to enjoy their current experience at home as 'friends and family will always be there' when needed. The message is clear within the typography used.

My final bag design, the theme of 'learning new habits' in relation to cleanliness; using a related illustration of a cleaning product reflects the typography 'Good habits lead to clean living'.

Will's final tote bag design. In relation to alcohol, he took the approach of warning new students, telling them to 'Always think outside the bottle', in relation to alcohol awareness. Realising that as new students, within this lifestyle alot of consuming alcohol may happen. His design, we as a group, felt that a colour palette complimented his bold and outstanding design. It also related to the illustration, a vast amount of alcohol bottle are green glass.

A few final designs produced by Yafat. Experimenting with colour pallette and a range of fonts.
A final design idea by myself.
An initial design, creating hand drawn, cleaning related products along with a range of different types. Unfortunatly i made the mistake of producing this design onto lined paper, which, when scanned, i found the lines hard to remove.
Some initial ideas. The thought of 'ingrediants' came to mind. A recipe for curing home sickness. I thought of the slogan 'make' to then add words in relation to this. The first stating 'make history', in relation to university life, with a sub heading 'by creating a new present'. It gives new students a positive outlook on how to view their new current lifestyle. Again, the design further down states 'make mistakes', with the subheading, 'learn from them'. As a new student, i know this new lifestyle have many trials and errors, mistakes will be made, but you must learn from them.
